Only 1lb Down? Hell, I'll Take it!

WOW what a weekend!  Here’s a brief re-cap:
Friday night: Got in an extra workout at the gym (FAST 1 mile on the elliptical) while Branden and Nora ran an errand; carrots and homemade hummus for dinner
Saturday: Protein shake for breakfast, grocery shopping, clothes shopping, Mexican feast for lunch (cheat meal – I ordered chicken fajitas and ate less than ½ of the sizzling portion, ½ of the rice, most of the beans and no tortillas. I did have some chips and salsa), bought a car(!), no dinner
Sunday: Protein shake for breakfast, cleaned my car to take in for trade-in, realized that my new car had mechanical issues and then spent the majority of my afternoon arguing at the dealership to give the car back. (I won) I was really frustrated so I had a giant glass of wine, and then my 2nd cheat meal – Mediterranean chicken wrap & fries from O’Charley’s and a low-fat chocolate milk shake.

I decided that I didn’t like the idea of an entire cheat day, so I split it into 2 cheat meals throughout the weekend.  Food-wise, I really didn’t do that great this weekend (beyond the obvious cheat meals) b/c I was really busy and just didn’t get a chance to eat much beyond those cheat meals, which is not a good thing.  I also decided that I am going to be weighing myself on Saturday mornings now rather than Sunday, so my ‘cheat meals’ go towards the work of the week ahead. 

I weighed myself Saturday morning and according to the scale, I only lost 1lb last week.  Whether or not that’s completely true, I’m unsure.  2 inconsistent variables: 1. I hadn’t ‘gone to the bathroom’ that morning. 2. I’m on my period (which can cause the body to retain excess water)
Hopefully, that just means that next week’s weigh-in will be extra good J  Even if the 1lb loss is true, I’m not upset about it.  It’s still a step in the right direction and at this point, every pound lighter is officially the ‘smallest amount I have weighed in as long as I can remember’… so I’m just happy with progress!  J

This week I am determined to be more disciplined than last.  I woke up late this morning BUT did still go to the gym.  The only thing I had time to do was the Couch to 5k training thing, so that’s what I did.  I worked up a sweat and felt good when I left!  I also plan to go to bellydance in Rabbit Hash this evening which is always a REALLY good workout!  And I just love Rabbit Hash, so I’m excited to go J

Food Today:
Breakfast:
Choc Protein Shake w/ Skim Milk
Egg white and spinach omlette

Snack:
Low Carb Yogurt

Lunch:
Tuna Salad
Carrots w/ homemade hummus

Snack:
Protein Mousse
Weight Watchers String Cheese

Dinner:
TBD – something quick, salad or something

I went shopping Saturday with my mom because I desperately needed new clothes!  I’m going to Manhattan in 3 weeks for work (for 5 days!) and I can’t possibly wear ill-fitting clothes to one of the most fashionable cities in the world!  Lucky for me, we picked a good day, everything in the store was on sale!  We went to a plus-size consignment shop called Laura’s Closet in Florence.  I ended up buying 2 skirts, 3 shirts and a dress for around $38!  Then, later in the day, Branden and I went to the Gap Outlet and I bought 4 more tank tops (1 of which was Athleta dri-fit tank w/ built-in sports bra $1.99!) and a pair of jeans ($4.99)!  I’m wearing the jeans today, they fit really well!  Size 22!  I am usually a size smaller on top so I’ve been buying 24 bottoms for a while but these 22s feel great!  Everything that I bought this weekend I bought a size smaller than I normally would!  This is one of my favorite parts so far J

Well, I guess I don’t have much else to report.  Hopefully tomorrow’s gym report is much more interesting and I’m going to try to pre-cook more frittata and eggplant for this week’s lunches so I don’t have to eat tuna every day lol.
