And it’s Tuesday… shoo, I’m just pooped today! I’m pretty sure the 2 hours of sleep that I had Saturday night and then the whirlwind of costume-creating and trick-or-treating for Halloween last night, on top of work/mom/gym/wife duties has just wiped me out! It probably didn’t help that the only thing I ate yesterday was chips and guacamole! I'll be honest, I was incredibly tempted by the chocolate that my child was collecting when we were trick-or-treating and had it not been for the known fact that I would have gotten ill if I would have eating some, I probably would have. BUT I didn't! I never had time to cook anything last night and by the time I could have eaten, it was after 8 and I just didn’t feel like it at that point…
Regardless of my lack of energy, I had a great workout this morning!

That’s right, 12:58! My time is improving and I LOVE seeing progress!! I achieved (and exceeded) my most recent goal of getting my mile time under 11 minutes and I did it in 10:47 this morning! I was so excited! Actually, I was so excited that I sent my brother (living in Virginia) a text to tell him and the conversation led to me committing to running an 8k with him on St. Patrick’s Day! Oh man! That’s nearly 5 miles! I can honestly say that I have never ran more than 1 mile at a time in my entire life… so the thought of 5 miles at one go is quite daunting, but I sure do love a challenge. J I’m really excited to be doing it with my brother, too! We’ve always been close and since he moved to Virginia (he’s in the Navy), we don’t get to spend much time together or talk much… so this will be awesome! Not to mention the fact that like ½ of the run is on the Virginia Beach boardwalk so I can stare at the waves while huffin’ and puffin’!

Breakfast:
Fresh juice of oranges, strawberries, grapes, cranberries and carrots with spirulina
Snack:
Oatmeal
Lunch:
A little bit of brown rice w/ sweet potato and squash soup

I’m going to Kroger to get veggie Sushi… I’m pretty damn hungry today
Dinner:
Veggie Chili! I’m pumped, it’s so tasty!
I have to say, I’m really feeling SO great!! My body is getting stronger, I have a better relationship with food and I’m honestly enjoying life more! One thing that I didn’t anticipate and need to come up with a better answer for is the “How are you doing it/How did you do it?” question that has become the first question people ask when they find out how much weight I’ve lost or when people I know see me for the first time in a while… I never really know what to say! I think a lot of people are expecting me to answer with the name of a magic pill/fad diet/surgery… but I certainly don’t have any of that. My answer is always “I workout a lot and I eat healthy food.” It’s pretty simple! Or, at least I think it is? Regardless, I’m definitely passionate about this new life and I can’t wait until the day that I can really focus on helping and improving other peoples’ lives!
Oh yeah – I am making a serious effort to eating less chips and salsa this week. Lol… I ate WAY too much last week, partially because I was eating mindlessly. This week shall be different, I tell you!

I eat chips and salsa everyday. It is my crack. If I start, before I know it, half the bag of chips and the whole container of salsa is gone.
