Happy Tuesday!
I know it’s been a while, I didn’t have internet access all weekend and yesterday was crazy madness at work so I didn’t have an opportunity to post!
I went to Virginia to visit my brother’s family this weekend and it was fun.. I stayed pretty true to my diet (with the exception of a few pieces of veggie pizza) and went on a couple of walks and played at the park with the kids a few times so I’m pretty happy with all of that J.
Yesterday was Day1 of my crossfit training! It went really well and really fast! I’m not used to doing the high intensity/short time workouts but I kind of like it! It lets me sleep in later which is amazing to say the least.
Here’s what I did at the gym yesterday:
Monday | Reps @ lbs |
5 Rounds for time: | |
Cable Lat Pulldowns | 10 @ 95# |
Seated Cable Rows | 10 @ 95# |
DB Overhead Press | 10 @ 20# |
5 Pushups | |
TIME: | 9:47 |
Basically I just did 5 rounds of the above workout as quickly as possible! It was definitely challenging and I felt accomplished when I completed it. My arms are sore today, but nothing terrible. With doing it ‘for time’, it also creates a cardio workout which is great!
Food Yesterday:
Breakfast: Mocha Protein Shake
Snack: Oatmeal w/ raisins & cinnamon
Lunch: Brown rice w/ lentil soup
Snack: WW pita w/ light hummus
Snack: Grapes
Dinner: A bit of Thai Butternut Squash soup w/ WW pita chips
And today:
Gym
Tuesday | |
Situps 50 | |
Run 1 mile | |
Situps 50 | |
TIME: | 17:00 |
So it took me 12min to run the mile… I will definitely be stepping up the pace with my next run. A great thing happened though… when I got to the mile mark – I felt like I could have kept going! I’ve never been able to run more than 1 mile at a time… but I think I can! I have to run again on Thursday and I think I might extend my distance! J I felt really great when I was finished!
Food Today:
Breakfast:
Mocha Protein Shake
Snack:
Oatmeal w/ raisins & cinnamon
Lunch:
Thai Butternut Squash Soup over Brown rice & steamed edamame
Snack:
WW Pita w/ Hummus
Snack:
Grapes
Dinner:
TBD – today is the last warm day for a while so I may grill some veggies J
Well overall, I feel pretty great! My brain is still holding on to this depression thing that has had a hold of me since Chicago, but it seems to come and go at this point. I’m just trying to focus on my goals and starting the new training program has me re-amped!
My boss gave me a low-fat vegetarian cookbook yesterday so hopefully I’ll have some delicious new recipes to share soon!
Saturday is picture day.. I’m not sure how much of a difference we will see from last month, I don’t feel like much has really changed… but then again I say that every month and I always surprise myself J One thing with this new training is that since I’m doing a lot of weightlifting exercises, I plan for my actual number weightloss to slow for a while. Muscles weighs twice as much as fat and as I gain muscle, it will kind of balance the fat that I’m losing so I may ‘plateau’ for a while, but the change in body composition should be quite evident J
Well, I hope everyone is having a great week thus far!
Until tomorrow…
Yay, it's letting me leave comments now!!
ReplyDeleteGood job on the mile mark, pretty it will be 10! I realized after you emailed me these workouts, that I don't belong to a gym. ha. So most of it is a no go. Oh well.
