F'n Knee. It's that serious.

Shit.  That’s how I feel right now.  Just, shit. 
Last night, we went to my Grammy’s house to visit with my Uncle Den and his family, just in from Nebraska.  Nora was running around with her little cousins, having a great time and I was standing in the kitchen talking on the phone to Branden, leaning against the counter.  My sweet little girl then came barreling around the corner and charged full force into my BAD knee, causing it to hyper-extend and then I felt my favorite thing; 2 crack/pops.  I’m hoping/praying It was nothing more than just some scar tissue (as I’m sure I have a TON built-up in there) and it will ‘work itself out’ as I obviously love to say. 
This is not the first time this has happened to me by any means, and I’m not the least bit mad at my little girl – she meant no harm – but it is incredibly frustrating and discouraging.  Usually when this happens, my knee is crap for 1-2 weeks.  That may not sound like much time, but it really is a big set-back when even a day of missing the gym can throw me dramatically off course.  I’m going to make a great effort to still stay in the habit of going to the gym on a regular basis, even if only to work my upper body and maybe pedal SLOWLY on the bike.  UGH!  I really need another surgery to clean out the mess left from years of injuries/surgeries but in doing that, I’ll be out of commission for like 6 weeks... And I’m not ready for that.  I’m just really hoping that it heals quickly and I can get back to my regular routine. 

Last night, I had dinner at mom’s.  Not the healthiest, but it was good.  I had grilled bone-in chicken w/ a bit of BBQ sauce and brussel sprouts in a (gulp) butter sauce.  Brussel sprouts tend to get a bad rep but they’re really good!  Just little mini cabbages, essentially… and I LOVE cabbage! 

I was in a lot of pain this morning so I didn’t make my tuna for lunch today.  I’ll be going out to eat, most likely get a burrito salad (no cheese/sour cream/rice) so I can still keep it relatively healthy.  Oh and I ate a chocolate chip cookie yesterday.  Not proud of it and regretting it now that I’m gimpy and didn’t go to the gym this morning! 

I didn’t buy my new running shoes last night and now I’m kind of glad that I didn’t!  It’s going to be an investment, one that I will make when I know my knee is strong enough to support the training. 

Food Today:
Breakfast:
4 bites Protein Mousse
1 Banana w/ natural crunchy pnut butter

Snack:
Low Carb Yogurt

Lunch:
Burrito Salad (as listed above)

Snack:
Protein Mousse
Or
Weight Watchers String Cheese and raw almonds

Dinner:
TBD – probably something with my uncle?

Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery... As I said, I’m going to try to go tomorrow and continue to work on upper body.  IF nothing else, my arms will be totally buff for the beach J
