I swear, if it’s not one thing, it’s the other. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve had MANY issues with my knee(s) growing up (thanks to my gender, weight, heredity and sports) and I’m used to having pain in that area. Apparently, my hips (my right hip in particular) was feeling left out and decided to make itself known last night. I was taking a walk with Nora and about ½ way through, I started feeling a lot of pain in my right hip. I didn’t think much of it, hoping it was just a little kink that would go away. I got home and it was still really sore so I did what I needed to do and went to bed with Nora. This morning when my alarm went off, I rolled over and almost cried because it hurt so badly… and now I’m limping around the office. Obviously, I didn’t go to the gym this morning – and I am not happy about it AT ALL. It gets really frustrating when my body ailments get in the way of my progress (needless to say, this isn’t the first time). I’m really praying that it’s nothing and again, will work itself out. And SOON. I heard from a friend earlier that she had some issues when she first started running because it’s a new thing for your body… so I’m hoping that it’s just that – my body trying to get acclimated to the new kind of impact. I know that I could really use another knee surgery to clean up the scar tissue I’m sure has built up and is causing a bit of trouble with my ol’ benders but I REALLY don’t want to have another surgery any time soon. UGH.
Anyway, besides the hip problem, the walk went well last night. I kept a very good pace and finished in good time. For dinner last night, I just made a big salad (Grilled Chicken, Romaine Lettuce, Baby Spinach, Onion, Mushrooms, Raisins, Banana Peppers, Fat Free Feta, Light Parmesan Asiago Dressing). It was yummy and healthy!

I became super hungry after my snack yesterday. I’m thinking that it’s because I OVERate this weekend.. so I need to shrink my stomach back down to normal size.. so I will probably just have to be a little hungry for the next few days. No fun, especially when people in the office are noshing on Penn Station lol. Oh well!
That’s about all I have for today… hope everyone has a good one! Send healing thoughts to my hip!
Oh yeah, tomorrow is picture day!! J
You need new shoes! It will solve everything, I swear it. Go to the running spot in Newport and have them fit you for the right shoes. The day I reach the maximum amount of miles on a pair of running shoes, my hip and knees EXPLODE. It may cost you a little more than you want to pay, but it's worth it not to be in the hospital with knee surgery! Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteIn the mean time, try swimming. It's great cardio and easy on the joints!
