Day 1/2

Today is THE Monday.  I did drag my ass out of bed this morning and eventually made it to the gym (although about 30 minutes later than normal).  I didn't realize until I was headed there that I mistakenly forgot to print my workout routine for the day (oops!) so I didn't follow my planned regimine - hence the title of this post... not QUITE the official Day 1.
What I did at the Gym Today:
10 Min. Elliptical - Medium Speed (5min forward/5min backward)
Rapid Tricep Extensions - 3 sets of 30 seconds
Rapid Bicep Curls - 3 sets of 30 seconds
Bent-Over Rows(?) - 3 sets of 12 per arm
5 Min Bike - Medium Speed
10 Min Elliptical - Fast Speed (5min forward/5min backward)

Overall, I left the gym feeling pretty good.  Not quite as accomplished as I would have liked, but still, pretty good. :)  One of these days I'm going to build myself a personal gym.. so I don't have to dance around the meatheads in the weight area!

My Menu Today:
Breakfast:
Chocolate Protein Shake
Whole Wheat Bagel with Thin shmattering of Peanut Butter

Snack:
Low-Fat Vanilla Yogurt w/ 4(squares) plain Graham Crackers

Lunch:
Granny Smith Apple w/ Peanut Butter and Raisins

Snack:
Baby Carrots w/ Organic Greek Yogurt Salsa Dip

Dinner:
TBD - Most likely Chicken on the good ol' George Foreman (I'll let Branden cook that - I always over-cook chicken on that thing!) with whole wheat pasta or brown rice or something?

This weekend was not a good eating weekend for me... a Mexican feast for lunch Saturday, an Italian feast for dinner last night... but I'm determined to fix that this week!  I used to be really good about watching what I ate, I just need to re-discipline myself and get back into a normal healthy routine
I haven't had a chance to weigh myself yet today.. but I'm going to track my weight in an Excel Spreadsheet (for my eyes only) and I'll update on here once I've lost a bit ;)

I heard about a new diet this weekend.  (still looking into Weight Watchers, though!)
Apparently, it's a 17-day cycle and it is advocated by some big names in the medical industry.  A good friend of mine and her partner have tried it and they lost approx. 10 pounds within the first 17 days.  I'll be looking into that as well!

Overall, I'm feeling pretty positive about my new lifestyle.  I'm hoping that my excitement will only grow once I start to see some results.  I'm going to Manhattan for work in mid August and would love to have lost about 40lbs by then.... so I guess I better get to sweatin!

I'm going to (print!) and do Monday's workout tomorrow.. so Friday's I'll probably just hit the gym an extra day this week and do Saturday.  I'll post Tuesday's (this week, Wednesday's) workout tomorrow!

Goal for Today: Drink a minimum of 64oz of water.  I keep a 1 Liter (33.8oz) bottle at my desk to re-fill.. so I don't think I'll have much trouble achieving this one :)

Thanks for stopping by :)
